A group of members from the West Wicklow Historical Society made their first foray of the Summer today, swooping down into the plains of North Kildare. Their destination was the ecclesiastical, educational edifice of Maynooth University. Their objective was to visit the excellent, entertaining and educational exhibition on ‘Burning the Big House, 1920-1923’, which is currently on display in the John Paul II Library. The exhibition lived up to all expectations and a most enjoyable time was had by all. It is great to be going on Society outings again, and we hope to organise a few more trips over the summer months. Members will receive details via email (or post for those who do not have email addresses).
