Tuesday 24 January was a significant day for the WWHS. The Society took a step into the future with the launch of its website: https://westwicklowhistoricalsociety.ie/ . At an event in Baltinglass Library, Cora Crampton outlined the various elements of the site, which include information on the history of the WWHS, its objectives and activities, and the people associated with it since its founding in 1980. There are sections on West Wicklow and its historic sites, news of the Society, links to resources, information on back issues of our Journal and facilities to join the WWHS online.
The launch is the culmination of several months’ work by a sub-committee led by Cora Crampton in collaboration with Rachel Kane of Rachel Kane Design, based in the heart of West Wicklow. The other members of the sub-committee were Chris Lawlor, Declan Keenan and Paul Gorry. It has to be said that Cora did the lion’s share of the work, liaising with Rachel, who did a fabulous job for us.
We were very pleased to see new faces and familiar ones at the launch and to recruit new members. Do visit the website and have a look around.
