Lecture by Joan Kavanagh:
‘Glendalough – An Age Old Attraction’.
Joan Kavanagh has been active in local history for many years and she is an old friend of the WWHS. When working for Wicklow County Council she was responsible for setting up the Wicklow Family History Centre, which indexed church records throughout the county. She is co-author, with Dianne Snowden, of Van Diemen’s Women: a history of transportation to Tasmania (The History Press Ireland, 2015). Currently she is working on a PhD.
