We were pleased to launch the 12th edition of the Journal of the West Wicklow Historical Society at Coimín Centre, Blessington on Thursday 9 November 2023. This latest edition contains nineteen articles on a diverse range of topics. We thank our joint editors Chris Lawlor and Declan Keenan and not least the authors for sharing their research and interests. Our biennial journal represents our society’s most enduring contribution to the body of knowledge concerning the history, folklore, traditions and archaeology of West Wicklow and its environs.

We are very grateful to WWHS member Aidan Cruise who provided a very interesting presentation on his impressive collection of images on the Dublin-Blessington tram line. Thank you to everyone who came along and to those who assisted on the night. The event was very well attended and included local representatives Gerry O’Neill, Patsy Glennon, Avril Cronin and Baltinglass Municipal District Administrator Liam Cullen.
